Big players are already positioning themselves: is the end of the gold correction coming?

The current correction in gold can be seen as an accumulation phase by large market participants, while smaller investors continue to sell after falling from the historic high of over $3,500 per troy ounce reached in April. According to Fidelity International, the outlook for gold remains clearly bullish, with the forecast for it to reach $4,000 by the end of next year.

Fund manager Ian Samson said the firm has already increased its exposure to gold in part of its multi-asset portfolios, using the price decline as an opportunity to position itself ahead of an expected dovish approach from the Federal Reserve, which is expected to push for more support for a slowing labor market as early as this week.

August is traditionally a weak month for financial markets, further supporting expectations of continued consolidation or correction in gold in the short term. This seasonality, combined with uncertainty surrounding US interest rate policy and trade relations, creates the conditions for a continued “gathering of strength” before a potential new upward momentum.

According to Fidelity and other leading institutions, in the long term, the precious metal remains attractive due to the weakening trend of the dollar, a possible decrease in interest rates in the United States, and the continued accumulation of gold reserves by central banks. Gold also retains its role as a “hard asset” against the backdrop of growing fiscal deficits, especially in the United States.
